What I Built Today
Today was about making privacy policy and account deletion simple, discoverable, and compliant - right inside the app.
✔️ Built a focused Account Settings screen in Android with Jetpack Compose.
✔️ Added a clear Privacy Policy section that explains what data is collected and why.
✔️ Created an Account Deletion section with step-by-step instructions to request deletion.
✔️ Linked both sections to the public deletion request page and the full privacy policy.
✔️ Kept scope intentionally small to ship compliance fast and boost user trust.
🎯 Result: The new Settings → Privacy & Account Deletion flow is live in-app. Users can see what app collects, why app collects it, and how to delete their account - transparency unlocked and another Play Console requirement checked off. One step closer to launch!
Why Privacy Policy & Account Deletion in Settings Matters
✅ Lays the foundation. Starting with a lean web-assisted flow makes it easy to add self-serve in-app deletion, status emails, and automation later.
✅ Improves data hygiene. Making deletion explicit encourages minimal retention and better lifecycle practices across the stack.
✅ Boosts discoverability. Housing privacy + deletion directly in Settings meets user expectations and reduces friction.
Conclusion
Today’s update brings a transparent, compliant Privacy & Account Deletion flow directly into the app. With the in-app links to the public deletion-request page and full privacy policy, the account deletion step in the Play release flow is even more secure and streamlined - one step closer to launch.
